BODYTEC HAWK SERIES ASSISTED CHIN–DIP
Pull–Dip-Progress—assisted, not limited
- Selectorized assistance for precise, repeatable progressions from novice to athlete.
- Multi-grip pull-up bar and full-length dip handles broaden programming options.
- Oversized knee pad rides on low-friction guides for smooth travel.
- Triple step access + anti-slip treads = safe mount/dismount.
- Commercial chassis: heavy-gauge steel, polymer pulleys, steel cable, sealed bearings, industrial upholstery.
- Low maintenance: easy wipe-downs; protected stack and guides.
Biomechanics
- Assisted Pull-ups/Chin-ups: shoulder adduction/extension + elbow flexion. Scapular depression & retraction emphasized; pad takes part of bodyweight so users can groove full-range reps.
- Assisted Dips: shoulder extension + elbow extension; pad offsets bodyweight to keep form strict through the deep range without shoulder stress.
- How assistance works: the selected stack value ≈ the assistance
Effective working load ≈ bodyweight – assistance. (Heavier pin = more help.)
Targeted muscles
- Pull-ups/Chins (primary): Latissimus dorsi, teres major, lower/mid trapezius, rhomboids; biceps brachii, brachialis, brachioradialis.
- Dips (primary): Pectoralis major (sternal), anterior deltoid, triceps brachii.
- Stabilizers (both): Rotator cuff, serratus anterior, core (anti-sway), forearm flexors; glute med/min on the steps.
Exercises & variations
- Wide-grip pull-ups (lat bias).
- Neutral-grip pull-ups (elbow-friendly).
- Supinated chin-ups (biceps bias).
- Scapular pull-ups (depress/retract only).
- Parallel-bar dips (upright = triceps; slight forward lean = lower-chest).
- Eccentric-only reps (set higher assistance for controlled negatives).
- Isometric holds at top/bottom for strength sticking points.
- Assistance drop sets (reduce help across a set).
